Too Much of a Good Thing?

Donated quilting fabric is always a good thing for Community Quilts, but is there ever a time when it is too much fabric?

Most of the time fabric donated to Community Quilts is sorted by type (eg Novelty, Geometric, Florals) into cardboard boxes at the monthly Busy Bees. However, last year Community Quilts received a large donation that included a tub full of Dr Seuss fabric, that created aa bit of a stir. What can you do you do with so much fabric on the same theme?

I was not sure how CQ would deal with this, but Cheryl came forward and took on the challenge of making use of the Dr Seuss fabric.

Here are photos of the five quilts Cheryl has completed thus far, each one unique in design, but all bright and colourful.

Cheryl has completed the blocks for a sixth quilt yet to be stitched together. I’m sure it will also turn into another unique and wonderful quilt for passing on to one of the many organisations that receive children’s quilts from Community Quilts. Not sure what the final quilt count will be, as Cheryl still has more Dr Seuss fabric to use and I’m sure plenty of ideas for making up the quilts,
