Sarah Hibbert Speaks
Thursday evening, stitched and bound hosted an ‘Evening with Sarah Hibbert’. What a wonderful event attended by almost 40 people, with entry fees going to Wheel Chairs for Kids Australia. To start the evening there was a glass of wine, bubbles or orange juice accompanied by a variety of sandwiches, cakes and treats. Plenty of chatter whilst waiting for Sarah to arrive from her workshop in Midland, as traffic was a nightmare for a lot of people coming to Alexander Park Craft House.
Once Sarah was all set up, then the fun began as Sarah has such a wonderful way of speaking and a great story to tell. There was a lot of laughter in hearing about Sarah’s journey and how she ended up with exhibiting her work at QFiK in Seoul, South Korea in October 2024.
What an impressive exhibition with some very special quilts by Sarah. It was also lovely to see photos of quilts from other exhibitors, and take a tour of some of the places Sarah visited in Seoul. I loved the tiny, crowded fabric shops!!
With how well the night went, the stitched and bound committee has decided to match the amount taken and thus donate $680 to Wheel Chairs for Kids Australia.
