Shopping Trail Now Open Until 3rd May!
The opening at Handcrafters House last Saturday was amazing thanks to Michelle and her team and all the guests. The shop was packed full of fabulous quilts, fabrics, threads, haberdashery and machines. Something for everyone.
There was a sumptuous buffet including amazing cupcakes provided to enjoy until the presentation began
Gwen Parry gave a brief summary of how to participate in and enjoy the Progressive Quilt event. The WAQA President, Connie thanked all the working party and the Sponsors for instigating the event and bringing the idea to fruition. Then she officially declared the event open.
Michelle welcomed everyone and presented the Progressive Quilt made by Handcrafters House. It was machine pieces and quilted by Michelle. The blocks were made with Liberty Tana Lawn. Chartreuse background and dark blue borders are Michelle’s favourite colours. The amazing quilting was enhanced by using two different weights of batting.
Michelle then gave a demonstration of piecing techniques including pressing, foundation piecing, twirling seams, tips for accurate points and so so much more.
This was followed with a very informative question and answer session. To top off an amazing afternoon, 4 pink goodies bags, were given away as the door prizes.
A very special thank you for Handcrafters House for their incredible generosity in supporting Quilting in Western Australia and particularly for all the knowledge shared.
