New Members in March

Welcome to all the new Members that have recently joined WAQA.

The WAQA Showcase presented by Handcrafters House in mid-March was a very successful event in many aspects including the addition of 41 members over the three days. These new members, plus the existing members that attended and many more visitors were treated to a wonderful quilt display with all the quilts from the WAQA Collection on show. The quilts from last year’s WAQA Challenge were also on display.

In addition at the WAQA Showcase there was a display from WAQA’s Community Quilts, Hexie Group and Contemporary Quilt Group that provided the new members and visitors with an opportunity to hear about the varied work done by WAQA members. There was also a rolling presentation on many other aspects of WAQA membership that can be viewed here.

In the days following that event it was wonderful to see some of the new members attend the Beginners Group, Sewing Day and Night and Community Quilts Busy Bee. Hopefully these new members will continue to participate in the many upcoming events such as the BYO Machine Night on April 5th, Sewing Day and Night on April 18th and others listed on the WAQA Calendar. Naturally all members are welcome and encouraged to attend all WAQA events and activities.
