WAQA Members’ Quilts in Art Quilt Australia

Art Quilt Australia, including Expressions: the Wool Quilt Prize, is a biennial juried exhibition open to textile artists resident in Australia and New Zealand.

WAQA members Lana Lefroy and Pat Forster are pleased to have had quilts accepted for Art Quilt Australia. WAFTA member Louise Wells is the only other WA quilter that was lucky – only 25 works were selected from the 101 entries submitted.

Lana’s quilt is eligible for the substantial Wool Quilt prize. She was prompted to make the quilt by the heartbreak of drought on her’s and David’s Yuinmery Station, Sandstone.

Pat’s quilt is Aerobics from the last stitched and bound exhibition. It was created as part of Pathfinders’ Drunkards Path Project – 28 quilts from the project will make a splash at QuiltWest in July.
