Our last post for 2020, thank you for following our WAQA blog and our social media pages, we are finishing the year with a wonderful post from Cathy Gregg, our Outreach Co-Ordinator. Well done to Cathy and our Community quilts team, these placemats bring much cheer to all who received.
“The WAQA Community Quilts members and general membership created and sewed 312 beautiful Christmas placemats this year and during December it has been my pleasure to drop them off to all very worthy and grateful recipients.
We were able to donate 125 to the Howard Solomon High Care unit in Ferndale, 100 to the Melville/Fremantle districts Meals on Wheels, 60 to Juniper Care in Armadale and 27 to Ayla Inc Community Care in Cockburn
I would like to thank everyone who took the time to make these Christmas gifts for the Community. The Managers told many stories of how the placemat brightens the day and cheers up the recipients. It is sometimes difficult to convey the amount of praise and gratitude that is given for these simple and beautiful placemat gifts“
It has been one very strange year, one that we are not likely to forget for a long, long time. Take the opportunity over the festive season to hold your loved ones close and let them know how much you love them.
Enjoy some down time over our beautiful summer days, to visit the beach, walk in nature and maybe catch up on some of your quilty projects.
We will be back bigger and brighter in 2021, with many things happening in our Assocation, so make sure you are following our blog, our social media pages and for the most up to date information, our WAQA webpage, here is the link.
A very merry Christmas to you all and a happy & healthy 2021.
