Getting Excited!

excited

Nearly time everyone for our COVID Quilt exhibition.  We are so looking forward to seeing all of your faces on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th October at the Stirling Adriatic Centre, 78 Jones Street in Stirling, Western Australia.

COVID QuiltWest is solely the initiative of WAQA to exhibit our members quilts and there will be some stunning quilts on show.  We will be open from 10.am through to 4.30 on both days.

Our community quilt ladies will be cooking up a storm and light refreshments will be available to purchase on both days.

WAQA asked our Western Australian QuiltWest Sponsors if they would like to join us at COVID QuiltWest, as a way for us to give back and support them. Eight jumped on board and are going to provide us with some much needed retail therapy.

Many of these sponsors have a fabulous on line presence. I highly recommend you follow them on line, especially on Instagram to be entertained, see their latest product, classes, place orders and be up to date with what’s going on in our quilting community.

Our Diamond sponsor, Handcrafters House is joining us for the two days. They have fabulous new Kaffe fabrics I saw on their “What’s in the Box” Thursday on Instagram.

Not only do they have a great range of quilting products but a great range of quilting machines, Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff, Singer, Handi Quilter and Accuquilt. Their great staff is always willing to answer your question.

Kennedys Creative Sewing Centre, a Diamond Sponsor, are the Bernina agents here in Perth. They are a very experienced team having inspired creativity in Perth for over 85 years. Kennedy’s have a good range of products and experience to support your quilting.

SewMondo specialises in modern quilting fabric, patterns and notions. The shop is located in Subiaco and is open by appointment and special open days during the year. It is fantastic the Carolina is bringing her shop to us.

Loose Stitches from Quarading are bringing goodies for those of us unable to get a seat on the Wheatbelt Wander Bus Trip. Unfortunately I haven’t visited this shop so I am really looking forward to seeing their wares.

Woven Stories specialises in hand woven fabrics for fashion, interiors and crafts. These are one of a kind fabrics that make amazingly soft unique quilts in exotic colours. Liz’s shop in in Myaree but only open Friday and Saturdays, so we are fortunate she is willing to bring her shop to COVID QuiltWest.

Ocean Keys Sewing Centre is “Your Partner in Sewing”. A great sewing centre on the coast with a full range of quilting products including Janome, Bernina and Baby Lock machines.

My Fabricology is a fabulous shop in Bayswater. They specialise in modern fabrics and have a great Instagram page showing their range of products and sell Juki Sewing machines.

Bizzy Bee Patchwork is now specialising in Japanese inspired fabrics, threads and patterns. They have many kit projects just waiting for you!

Thank you to these sponsors for supporting COVID QuiltWest.

Hope to see you on the day, our past and present committee members will be there, with their name badges on, including me, come up and say hello.
