Now that Christmas is done and dusted it is time to think about what exciting things will be happening at WAQA this year.To keep updated you can follow this blog, find us on Instagram and facebook and remember to check the calendar out on the WAQA website.
Sewing Day is on January 16th and Sewing night is on 17th. Remember to please bring along your 2018 membership cards and you may also like to bring along a few dollars as our guests will be Bizzybee Patchwork and 2Crafty ladies.
We are also looking forward this year to doing some blog posts on our members ( who come from far and wide) and taking a little peak into their lives. My first “meet the quilter” post will be our challenge quilt winner for 2017, Judith who lives in Augusta. So watch this space.
Also watch out for our post on Ruth De Vos, who will be our guest speaker at our general meeting on February 7th, I am in Perth for this meeting and I cannot wait to meet Ruth and have a look and be inspired by her work.
Remember that we also run some wonderful workshops throughout the year. Our first workshop is on February 17th with Claire Turpin who will be teaching Free Form applique, you will need to check our website to see if their are places still available for this class or you can email our workshop Co-Coordinator, Cherie at waqaworkshops@gmail.com for further information.
If you are interested in being a part of our “meet the quilter” segments, I would love to hear from you. Western Australia is a huge state and I know we have members everywhere!! Or you may like to share news about what your quilting group have been up to. Email me at waqablog@gmail.com. Let’s make 2018 the year of getting to know more quilters!
