Annual General Meeting – 2017

First the good news from the meeting …

We looked back on an action packed year full of fun and creativity. Our finances are in good order and we can look forward to another busy coming year. A huge thankyou went to Gwen Parry and Lesley Warren for the fantastic job they have done over the past two years as President and Vice-President, with thanks going to the committee who have also worked tirelessly for the association. There was also a BIG welcome to the incoming committee.

Gwen was presented with a zillion selvedge blocks to sew together for her ‘President’s Quilt’ and Lesley received a surprise packet of liberty fabrics given by the members.

Life membership was awarded to the very deserving Cathie Gamble. The description of her long and incredibly full list of service to the association will be in the next QQ.

Outgoing Membership Secretary Helen Perlman was caught on camera (at last!) with Cathie Gamble

Following tea the guest speaker was Claire Turpin of claire turpin design who brought along a trunk show of her colourful quilts and told us about the background to her successful WA business.

Now for the ‘not-so-good news from the meeting…
There were no nominations for the President and Vice-President positions. So, although the association can continue to be run by the ten Management Committee Officers, there is no President or Vice-President.

Please consider volunteering for either of these positions. Gwen and lesley have left the association in excellent order and both positions will be supported by a committed and hardworking team…
