Sunday was the first meeting of our new ‘Dear Jane’ Group. Fifteen plus ladies came along to the Alexander Park Craft House to be inspired and encouraged to start their own DJ quilt. Angela Davies brought her prize winning quilt to show everyone.
“It was an absolute bonus for Angela to come and bring her quilt! She is just wonderful letting everyone touch/feel/look/ask questions etc. and there’s no doubt that she inspired everyone to get in and get involved! There were about 15 there at all stages of DJ, Farmers Wife or whatever they were doing in the DJ style. Some hadn’t started, others had ‘had a go’ and of course there were those who were well organised and getting on with their blocks. As for me, I did a lot of talking.
We plan on meeting at APCH on the third Sunday of each month and will go from 12 to 5 pm. Each day will cost $5 per person and tea/coffee/biscuits will be included in this price. BYO lunch if you want to eat while you work. Visitors are welcome to come for three visits but after that will need to join WAQA to keep us covered for Insurance purposes. Meeting on a Sunday afternoon doesn’t always fit in with family commitments so we will welcome anyone who would like to come whenever they can”.
