The WA Quilt Expo is on until tomorrow at the Claremont Showgrounds and is well worth a visit.
The Southern Country Quilters Association have put on a great show of quilts that are collected for the ‘love of quilting’ and not for competition. There was also a display of quilts from the Bunbury Challenge (see above) that had to include a very bright and quirky fabric that was used really cleverly by all the participants. Helen Wheeler organises this competition each year, and entries come from all over the world.
We couldn’t stop looking at the pieced Japanese cranes on the quilt below shown in the main exhibition. It was made by Anne Fletcher from Australind and the cranes were all hand pieced!
