Amazing Quilts From A Beginner

Betty brought in two of her completed quilts to show to the members of the Beginner’s Group this week. Whilst some attending the group have been quilting for quite a few years, Betty only started quilting a couple of years ago. The one with the flowers on the border Betty started two years ago when she first started quilting, using a pattern in a magazine, and is all hand pieced and hand quilted. The other one did not take quite as long but still shows how quilts can be very different and yet amazing.

A day spent quilting at the Beginners’ Group is always a great day as there is lots to see and learn from the other quilters and of course from the quilters ‘in charge’. With the session time extended this year to run from 10am to 3pm, there is more time to catch up on the progress others are making with their quilts, as well as work on your own quilt.
